23rd March is observed as World Optometry Day all over the world. To bring the awareness about Optometry profession in the society, several events are organized throughout the world on this day.

 

As part of this Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry in India had organized several events throughout India. The western zone event was organized at ITM campus, Kharghar on Sunday, 23rd March 2014 where 11 colleges from Mumbai, Pune, Nasik and Gujarat participated in the event.

 

As a part of a celebration of World Optometry Day, ASCO had organized many inter-collegiate competitions in cultural events including group dance, solo dance, duet dance, skits and a quiz competition on academics. Students of Laxmi College of Optometry participated in all the competitions and won 4 trophies in several events.

Laxmi College of Optometry was the winner of Quiz Competition and funny ads, whereas the college was 1st runner up in skit and 2nd runner up in solo dance.

Laxmi College of Optometry is organizing a survey through opticians in and around Panvel, asking them few questions regarding optometry profession. This will create awareness in the society about optometry as a profession and career.
